Blagdon Pre School is part of a registered children’s charity under the umbrella "Blagdon Under fives"

Being a registered children’s charity, the Pre School has to be run with a committee of members which is currently made up of parents with children enrolled at the Preschool and parents of children who have left.

The committee comprises of a Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer and committee members.  We meet on average 6 times a year and whilst we assist the staff with some of the running duties of the Pre School our main role is to host events and fundraise to keep the Pre School and Toddler group thriving.

We are always looking to welcome new members, you don’t have to have a child at the Pre School to sit on the committee, we welcome members who have business knowledge, life experience or just an enthusiasm to help.

If you feel that you would like to join the committee or would like to discuss how the committee works, please contact us.

My daughter attended the Pre-School for 18 months before starting at Blagdon Primary School and I experienced first-hand the impact that the quality of education, learning and carefully structured transition to starting Primary school, had on her.  I know that without her time at the Pre-School, she would not have walked into the reception class on her first day with a smile on her face. It is for this reason that I have dedicated some of my time to the committee.

It was through my experience as a parent, watching my daughter develop with the care and experience of all the staff at the Pre-School, that I felt I needed to give something back to the setting by joining the committee. I wanted to ensure that other children get the chance to learn and develop in such a caring environment, based within the grounds of the primary school. There are not many settings that can offer this.
